Compassionate Support Grant: Daily Care Essentials
The Daily Care Essentials Grant helps families facing the challenges of memory loss by providing financial support for essential caregiving items. From medical supplies and adaptive equipment to everyday necessities like food and hygiene products, this grant ensures that families have the tools they need to provide the best care for their loved ones. Our goal is to reduce the stress of caregiving so families can focus on creating lasting memories with their loved ones.
How To Apply

Eligibility Requirements for Daily Care Essentials Grant
Community members must meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for the grant:
- Caregiver and person living with dementia must reside in North Carolina.
- The person living with dementia receives full-time in-home care and not in a Memory Care Facility.
- The caregiver must be experiencing financial hardship directly related to the care of a loved one with progressive memory loss. Financial hardship may include, but is not limited to:
- Loss or reduction of income due to caregiving responsibilities
- Increased medical or memory care related expenses
- Inability to meet essential living expenses (housing, utilities, food) as a result of caregiving costs
- Significant out-of-pocket costs for supplies, respite care, or safety modifications
- A formal diagnosis of a memory-related condition, including but not limited to: Alzheimer’s disease, Frontotemporal dementia, Lewy body dementia, Vascular dementia, Mixed or other dementias, or Parkinson’s-related dementia, is required.
- Applicants may apply for only one grant per fiscal year (September 1 – August 31). This program is designed as a temporary bridge for families facing financial hardship, rather than a means of ongoing or long-term support.
What Is Included?
Each Daily Care Essentials Grant includes a package of high-need caregiving supplies commonly used to support individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia at home. Depending on availability, packages may include items such as disposable gloves, protective underwear, A&D ointment, bathing wipes, and other essential care products. Package contents may vary based on inventory and program funding.
How the Process Works
- Referral received
- Caregiver completes an application
- Application reviewed
- If approved, Grant Agreement signed
- Grant package shipped
- Follow-up survey
Note: The Daily Care Essentials Grant is currently operating as a pilot program. During this phase, grant funding and supplies are limited, and applications are accepted through referrals from our community partners and network. As we evaluate the program and expand our capacity, additional application opportunities may become available.
Grant applications will be available November 1, 2026.

Every Daily Care Essentials package is assembled from donated supplies. Our Amazon wish list holds the exact items families need most — disposable gloves, protective underwear, bathing wipes and other everyday essentials. Anything bought from the list ships directly to the Memory Care Foundation and goes into a grant package for a local family.
