Mrs. Rhonda Young

Mrs. Rhonda Young is founder and board chairman of the Memory Care Foundation. She founded MFC in 2024, after caring for her mother, Selena, who lived with Alzheimer’s disease for more than a decade. Mrs. Young has firsthand knowledge and understanding of the financial impact with the cost of care for a family member living with Alzheimer’s disease. Mrs. Young wants to ensure that families have the resources and support so that they can focus on compassionate care and not the financial burden.

Mrs. Young is currently a District Court Judge of Wake County, Raleigh, NC. Mrs. Young joined the bench in August 2022, following in the footsteps of her friend and mentor, Retired Judge Lori Christian. It is an honor and a privilege to follow in her footsteps of greatness!

Prior to Mrs. Young’s judgeship, she was in private practice for 14 years. She is a 2008 graduate of North Carolina Central University School of Law. Throughout her career, she has represented clients in Federal and State courts in civil, family, and criminal matters. She has also served as a
mediator and parent coordinator. Regardless of whether Mrs. Young was representing a party or working on a case as a certified mediator or arbitrator, she was committed to resolving disputes efficiently and fairly.

With a servant’s heart, while in private practice, Mrs. Young represented adults and children with disabilities as they sought to obtain social security benefits. Additionally, she has served as guardian ad litem in domestic violence and federal civil rights cases.

Outside of her professional work, Mrs. Young enjoys hanging out with the family puppies, Bingo
and Mimi.
